April 13th 2020 Organizational Meeting CANCELED.

RCDP Members and Democratic Community,

The Riverside County Democratic Party is canceling the April 13th 2020 Organizational Meeting In light of recent guidance provided by health officials, and the California Democratic Party.  The rules approved for this meeting would have required in-person attendance for all voting members.  Instead of meeting on April 13th, the following will occur:

  • All members who successfully completed all candidate filing requirements for seats on RCDP, and were either elected or appointed in lieu of election following the 2020 Presidential Primary Election will be seated automatically after the certification of the Primary Election vote by the Riverside County Registrar of Voters.  2020 RCDP Members will be contacted to complete all membership dues and paperwork requirements in the next few weeks.

  • RCDP will schedule the 2020 Organizational Meeting for May 11, 2020 after further consultation. The 2020 Organizational Meeting will be scheduled with the option for an in-person or electronic meeting, as needed to ensure the health and safety of all involved.

  • A new set of Rules for the Election that will provide for equal opportunities to participate in all positions up for election (Chair, Vice Chair, Corresponding Secretary, Recording Secretary, Controller, AD Chairs, AD Secretaries).

  • Training and assistance will be provided to ensure that all members are able to participate in any kind of electronic meetings that are necessary while the current CDP Meeting Guidance continues to apply.

  • RCDP Officers who will continue as RCDP Members in 2020-2021 will continue to act in place while planning for the 2020 Organizational Meeting on May 11th.

  • No current officers will convene any election for which they may be considered as a candidate.  The requirement to have a convener who is unaffiliated with RCDP for the 2020 Organizational Meeting will remain in place.

Details will be made available at www.riversidecountydemocrats.org and by email as they develop.  Thank you all for continuing to work with RCDP, and for your commitment to all working together in a manner that keeps us all safe and healthy.
